Zoe Strauss & Me VS. Iron Man 2

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

zoe&ironman

To promote their new car, The Fiesta, the Ford motor company launched a nationwide campaign involving events in different cities. One of the projects was to give a budget to filmmakers in different areas to make a short film on whatever they want provided it involve the location and somehow shows the car. I made a short documentary about the amazingly talented Philadelphia photographer Zoe Strauss.

The film is playing at the Riverview Theater in Philadelphia on Thursday June 3rd in front of Iron Man 2. The event is FREE if you RSVP ahead of time.

You can RSVP HERE.

The Food Network is starting a new channel called, “The Cooking Channel”. I developed what is now one and could maybe possibly become several new spots for them with the folks at Big Smack. Ish Klein is the tomato and the costume and set were mastermined by Carrie Collins with many of the set-pieces also originating from the brain of Jason Hsu.

“FUSS FREE” Art Show

Monday, March 15th, 2010

fuss_free_web

The great Roy Miranda curated a new installment of his “Fuss Free” series at Shadow Space Gallery. The opening was March 5th and I presented a collaboration installation project with Carrie Collins called, “Makin’ It.” The installation consisted of a found footage video I made with stars from the 80’s and 90’s talking about fame and how famous they hope to be in the future. The video was shown on three monitors simultaneously in a room constructed by Carrie. The room had clear vinyl walls and was filled with hundreds of helium balloons in a kind of an upside-down-ball-pit. The show is up until April 30th and features work from some of my favorite Philly artists including: Thom Lessner, Jayson Musson, Hawk Krall, Matthew Kucynski, Joel Flood, Linda Smyth, Don Vincent Ortega, Adam Wallacavage, Christopher Luxton, Martha Rich, Matthew Michalak, and Dave Delaney.

Dave Dunn and I produced and shot a promo for the Oprah Winfrey Network with the folks at Big Smack. There was lots of orange involved. Special thanks to Duncan Frazier for the timelapse skillz and all our pals for rolling around in paint, primer, and pizza for a few hours.

Space 1026: YURT!

Thursday, February 4th, 2010

YURT

Space 1026 is apart of a HUGE show going on right now, “The Graphic Unconscious” curated by Philagrafika, that has work from print artists all over the world in a three month long exhibit spanning five galleries. Space 1026 built a giant YURT at the Print Center Gallery, which also functions as a reading room. I have some videos playing in there on a loop. Go there to escape the world for a day. It’s much nicer there. I take absolutely no credit for the YURT though. The real cred goes to a dedicated group of other 1026er’s and interns. Check it out while it’s still up!

MUMMER’s DAY w/ THE VAUDEVILLAINS

Carrie Collins and I were the burger bride and milkshake groom. We didn’t get married, but if we ever did it would probably look exactly like this. Support the Vaudevillains.
